Monthly Wrap Up, November 2022
Way better than photoshop?
Anyone that works any sort of composite image, texture overlays, double exposures, or even printing on alternate materials needs to have a look at this photographer’s art. It’s hard to believe the results he achieves using a very old method.

Absolutely unique exhibitions
Take a look at this photographer’s absolutely unique way of showing her photography in the print medium. It’s given myself and Les dozens of ideas to pursue. I’m certain it will speak to most of our community as well. Pay close attention to the curation, arrangement and displays she uses in her exhibitions that are also books/boxes and how that translates into a take-home from her exhibitions. It’s well worth taking a look at all the exhibitions.

Awagami Workshops
If you're in the neighborhood, we've got a few slots left for our Intro To Awagami workshop coming up in the new year. If you are at all interested in these wonderful Japanese materials, this half-day introduction is incredibly useful to get a good start.
The Awagami workshop was exceptional. It provided practical information emphasizing the need for creativity rather than paint-by-numbers instructions. The workshop helped me understand the characteristics of the wide range, the differences among the papers, and useful suggestions as to what types of images will work best, and – equally important – which won’t. I went into the workshop doubtful whether Awagami washi papers would provide results worth the effort. I emerged convinced. — Bill Iverson
If you're ready to work on your first finished work of art we've got one slot left in our Advanced Awagami Printing & Display workshop coming up in June 2023. We’ll work with you for a month or so prior to your arrival to ensure your editorial selection will be optimal for the papers we’ll be using. It will be a a great weekend working with a few other very capable photographers and print lovers.
