Using matte corners
Using corners can help visualize what a final mounted, matted print will look like. Size, color, number, and thickness all contribute to the final presentation.

When framing your fine art print, deciding on the size of your mat can be an exercise in frustration. Do I want a 2" wide mat, 2-1/2", 4"? For those of you just getting into framing your own print, this may sound petty. But determining the size of one's mat isn't always obvious and can have a dramatic effect on the way you present your artwork.

The way we solve this in my studio is to pre-cut a variety of corner template widths, along with a few mat colors. It may not be THE perfect solution, but it's about the best one I've found for the time and money invested.
